Re: Dormobile roof strengthening bar?

Don't think there's anything like that on mine. Easiest way to find out is to look at the Dormobile parts catalogue (sit down for the prices!) as you can buy everything new.

Re: Cool box & porta-potty

The vertical axis units are better for variable direction conditions like you'll find on site with trees as they don't need to re-orientate for the wind. There's a lot of work going into them for urban use as turbulence will reduce efficiency on the windmill types. Not sure about efficiency, but you...

Re: Cool box & porta-potty

Thanks Michiel. I got a Thetford in the end as it wasn't much more money and seemed a lot more reliable. Leisure battery is already fitted and I'm looking at solar panels once we start using it (hopefully soon). I've also seen some vertical axis wind turbines, too expensive for now, but might be a v...

Cool box & porta-potty

Just looking a some bits for the Carawagon. Any comments on these, and also a heads up as they're on sale. Porta-potty. Not sure how it can have a 10l waste tank and only weigh 5kg..... Either way it'll fit in the roof rack for transit & can live underneath during the day. http://www.gooutdoors....

Re: Dormobile roof aperture dimensions

It is, and not helped when they send the wrong size up first..... The guys fitting mine were not impressed. Depending what the £1k includes it might not be a bad deal! I think mine will be around £2500 for roof, (a lot of) repairs, canvas, glass etc and painting: that's just the roof. Looks really g...

Re: Fuel bottles for the heaters

It's a fair point, but otherwise it's going in the engine bay and there's not a lot of room plus the battery is under that part of the bed too. The vent can go out next to the exhaust: I'm more concerned with CO than diesel!
