Re: Refrigeration
I would go compressor fridge every time. 3 way fridges use too many power from the battery. Look for National Luna, Engel, ARB, Weaco etc. Maybe they have a fridge that would fit. I have a National Luna my self. I have it for about 5 years now, never looked back. Best investment after the heater fro...

Re: 1975 LHD 109 SW
Hi Mick, What I am going to do is the same as Alex B in his Dormobile, so it should not be too difficult. As for the front panel, I have another one I can butcher to make the radiator and intercooler fit. The removable gearstick is actually not a bad idea. Also a good anti theft idea, just take the ...

Re: Fuel bottles for the heaters
That is very true Robin, didn't think off that. But personaly, I wouldn't want a diesel container inside the living area. But that is me...

Re: Fuel bottles for the heaters
You sure you want to keep it in the compartment where you are sleeping? Whatever container you use, it must have some sort of ventilation vent or valve to prevent the container from collapsing under the vacuum pressure of the fuel pump sucking the fuel out. So it will vent the diesel fumes in the ca...

Re: Fuel bottles for the heaters
I use a small 5l steel jerry can. It looks the same as the 20l, but mini. It fits snug in the engine bay against the inner wing on my 6 pot. It came with a filling spout. I cut off the spout just above the cap and fittet the pick up pipe which comes with your heater over the left over stump of the s...

Re: Dormobile roof aperture dimensions
This makes more sense with a picture to look at. I have emailed you the fitting instructions from Dormobile, courtosy from Colin. Hope they are of use to you. I have the roof open in the mean time and will measure again for you when I wake up later today. Amat work on night shift at the moment. Do y...

Re: Dormobile roof aperture dimensions
It is quite steep for 4 bits of metal. Do you have a spare roof you are using to convert or are you using your freshly painted pristine roof currently on the Landy? If you got a spare one off the car, it works a lot easier than mounted to the car. But as always, measure a million times and cut once....

Re: Dormobile roof aperture dimensions
I have measured the aperture for the roof. It is approx. 42" x 67.5" and starts 7" (not 11) measured from the rear edge of the Landrover roof. I measured on the inside, so I am probably a few mill out. These are approximations as it is difficult to measure with the roof closed. I can'...

Re: Dormobile roof aperture dimensions
Ah, ok. See your prediciment now. Alternatively you could get in contact with Dormobile and ask measurements for those parts. They also sell a replacement roof frame for £255. They sell loads of parts, but sometimes at some handsome prices. :stars: I will chase Colin for the manual. There might be m...
