Re: roof ventilator - replacement seals

Hi Chris

The seal looks like the seal I have on my Dormobile. I bought it from Dormobile about 8 years ago. Its feels a bit floppy and you wonder if it will work, but no water has ever come in. Just pushes onto the roof upstand.

Hope this helps

Re: Cool box / refrigerator suggestions?

Our fridge travels on the rear spare seat or on the rear floor, if we are 4 up. I have made table that clips on to the back of the rear crossmember and as soon as we stop, the table is clipped on and the fridge placed on it. Great when we are brewing up as I can reach the kettle, the water. the tea ...

Re: My camper conversion of PTV433M

Dormobile used three different ways of holding the roof down on the outside. They used the over center toggle catches, rubber bonnet catches and as on mine, leather straps. You need to look at your roof, if is has an over center catch hook on the fiberglass, then you will have to get some new over c...

Re: Cool box / refrigerator suggestions?

Hi Jeramy
It's all be said, we love our fridge. Robin is mistaken about the size of our fridge, It's a Coolfreeze CF25, the same as Robin's, just an older model. easy to fill, so I wouldn't go any smaller, but I wouldn't go any bigger either in a Dormobile.

best regards Mick

Ideas for manufacture out of sheet steel

hi all A mate has recently invested in a computer controlled plasma cutter and I will be using him to cut lots of bits for the products I make. He has tasked me with finding Land Rover related parts, signs, boot scrapers, etc that he can cut and make available to Land Rover enthusiasts. This is his ...

Re: My camper conversion of PTV433M

Were those roofs near Bridlington? I was told about them a couple of years ago, but never had the spare cash to go get them. My roof was held down by leather straps from new, so has chrome Staples on the fiberglass. What do you have on your roof? staples? Hooks?

What does the van roof look like?

BI Rob

If he changes his mind, let me know. I've done the TDi thing. The fuel economy is great, but I fancy trying a petrol again. If I find an engine, it will get a full rebuild to stage two. Hopefully that will improve the economy a bit and help push the Carawagon on at a reasonable speed.

Re: White smoke?

Has the valve timing been set? The timing sprocket on the camshaft is infinitely variable and has to set every major service. Of course it is never done and that is why most 2 1/4 chug about at 45mph instead of 65mph. It needs to be set bang on and then the pump timing reset. Your engine will be tra...

Wanted 2.5L Petrol Engine

Hi all Looking for a 2.5L petrol engine. The plan is to get our Carawagon on the road this year. I have rebuilt the chassis and that will be galvanised soon. The chassis had been modified for a V8, but I have refitted mounts for 4 Cyl engines. I have fitted the mounts 90/110 style so that I can fit ...
