Re: Hi from Cumbria

Welcome and good luck with the restoration! Keeping my fingers crossed for warm, dry weather for your rebuild! I work on my Dormobile outdoors but then I live in sunny California.

Re: The Great Continental Divide expedition 2015

Gary, Thanks for reminding me about "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". I worked on the film version of the book which was a really bizarre experience. Hunter S. Thompson appears in the film in a night club scene and to quote Terry Gilliam at the time, "his information intake tray appea...

The Great Continental Divide expedition 2015

I've posted some of these pictures on another list so apologies if you have seen them before but as this is a camper-related list, I will be more specific. So, what's the longest you've camped and traveled in your camper? My last trip was 5 weeks on the road which is my record so far. As I've mentio...

Interesting. Thanks for the pictures Robin. I'll have to take a look at that for my next go-round with the brakes.

Re: Brake system setup 109

It's hard to tell, but am I right in thinking that the bleed screw is at the top of the back plate? Does that help with bleeding?

Re: Overland Expo West 2015 (USA)

My Dormobile had a couple of tiny roof leaks in the roof, nothing serious, which I will fix now that I'm home. Thanks to James and Kelly, we had power on our campsite and I had a small electric heater with me, so I was toasty warm. :nana1:
It didn't rain the whole weekend. In fact, on Sunday we had brilliant sunshine.

Re: Overland Expo West 2015 (USA)

It was good to meet you Sean, glad that the extra cylinder meant that you got home quickly! I left on Sunday afternoon and got back Tuesday afternoon. All 4 cylinders performed as advertised and the addition of the overdrive meant that cruising speed and fuel economy were much improved compared to m...

Re: Dormobile Roof Fasterns

Mark, Dormobile Ltd should be able to provide replacement catches for the LHS and hinges for the RHS. The picture of the LHS shows the original mounting points for the catches which were mounted on the stand-off bracket. My guess is that a P.O. had a pull-out arrangement for an awning but it must ha...
