Re: Dormobile roof colour
Thanks Jerry & Alex, I'd like to keep it fairly original so I'll stay with the limestone roof on the Land Rover, just trying to decide whether to eventually paint the Dormobile roof white or limestone. I'm guessing they weren't painted originally just left in the gelcoat which was probably white...

Dormobile roof colour
Was the Dormobile roof always white ? Gelcoat rather than painted ? On a mid 60's IIa you would end up with a Limestone roof with a white Dormobile top, is that correct ? At some point the fibreglass on mine has had a paintover (with a yard broom by the look of things) so I need to strip it back and...

Re: Walter the Dormobile
I haven't done much on the Dormobile for a while. I did pick up some Toyota rims & tyres. They arrive in Australia with 7.50 X 16 tyres on split rims but most people immediately replace the tyres & rims so they come up for sale regularly. Problem is the split rims are almost worthless as the...

Re: Carawagon in NSW?
Yes, I have a wanted advert running on Gumtree. Really need a 5 door because of the kids and need to finish the Dormobile first ! I did send an email to the seller of the one listed asking for internal photos and whether it started & drove OK. That was a couple of weeks ago and still no reply. I...

Re: How many?
I've checked on the Aulro website here and apparently 4 others have turned up for sale over the last few years. There were 3 just recently plus a couple of others a few years ago including a very nice 6-cylinder (from South Australia I think). There was also a very good condition complete roof sold...

Re: Burnt out
Sorry to hear of your loss, hope the insurance company pay up without too many problems.
Hopefully you can salvage the seat frames, they seem to be the most difficult parts to locate.
