Re: How many?

When I first joined the S2 Club and forum about 8 years ago (and 25 years into Dormy ownership), I received a PM from Phil who asked for Dormy's details. I seem to recall in one of the PM's, he suggested he had details for the UK of around 15 Dormobiles 'On the Road' and a similar number number 'Off...

Re: fitting an overdrive - the Dormawagon

Yep, pretty sure that will foul............. See if you can pick one up at the Ripon spares day, or you might need to get that one modified. I agree. Though the Fairey won't need as much clearance as the Bearmach with it's "Top Hat", the adjustment your box would require would be in the r...

Re: "Hei" from Norway

Replaced it with som new panels and a cheap but good enough coolbox for 12V Definitely looking good. I would be wary of that cheap coolbox though. They don't cool as well as they are advertised to and draw quite a few amps. Do not leave it switched on when you park up or you will soon have a discha...

Re: Dormobile

So all in all, a late S2a with a plastic grille.

Wonder why the gas bottle isn't under the driver's seat ?

Otherwise appears well looked after.

Re: My camper conversion of PTV433M

Good piece of work so far.

Is the left side going to have another bed or will that be cupboards and cooker etc ?

Re: Dormobile rear seat stowing straps

Here is a picture of one of the straps on the rear of the wardrobe unit. These hold the water containers in place and are identical to the seat straps other than how they are attached. They are 1 1/4" wide so the army straps in Mick's link must be virtually identical other than colour. Strap an...

Re: Dormobile rear seat stowing straps

Hi Glen, Here is a picture of where they attach on the 'C' post, (interior trim not currently fitted). Note; the webbing on mine is a replacement as the originals finally split after many years and the black nylon strap was just a convenient substitute. I still have the originals - somewhere ? Seat ...

Re: I have no idea!

I did notice tonight that with the toolbox installed it doesn't leave much room for an overdrive! It'll be a hard choice Not actually such an issue. I have a Bearmach (Toro) overdrive fitted to Dormy. These come with an oil trap breather chamber as a top cover which I could see would definitely int...

Re: I have no idea!

Yes, both are standard

The crude hole in the gas-bottle access panel is obviously a PO's attempt to get to the valve on the bottle without removing the panel. Having to remove the drivers seat completely to turn the gas on/off is a bit of a pain.
