Hi Mick, not too sure if it needs a glass inside the mesh, is it removable? As that looks like a home made affair, I've seen some 'safety' globes before that are a wire mesh instead of the glass globe, however it's not too clear with yours if the mesh is part of the lamp or removable. Yes it's most likely a "Searle Safari" which was the camper conversion on a 88". They did do a "Mini-Carawagon" which was pretty much the same but with the addition of a cupboard on the right hand side.
