Hi Jerry,
You have it the right way round - the outer hoop is the lowest.

Ian

Re: dormobile roof - fixed on inside or outside?
Hi Alex, I think (if I've understood the question correctly) that they should be on the outside - all the aluminium strips on mine are on the outside. I think the reason one of your roofs have the strips on the inside is because the canvas was replaced at some point and its easier to mount the strip...

Re: Dormobile Roof Refurbish...........
Hi Jerry, Nice job on the roof. Good luck refitting the windows - I did mine last year and it was a pig of a job. :banghead: One thing to note - it seems that Dormobile used 2 different thicknesses of glass. Mine had 1/8" glass (it is a 1962) and of course, I had ordered 3/16" rubber. I en...

Re: Los Angeles ABFM
The white Series 3 did come from Australia apparently. Sorry you missed buying it. The Dormie on the left isn't original - it was converted from a station wagon with parts from another Dormie that had a rotten chassis. Mine is the truck on the right.

Re: mot
Good luck with the steering relay Robin. From others tales, they are a bear to remove. I just replaced the exhaust manifold on the Dormie and splitting the inlet from the exhaust manifold was a pig. Things that have been together a long time are hard to part. I have the scars to prove it. If its any...

Los Angeles ABFM
Yesterday was the annual All British Field Meet and car show at Woodley Park in Van Nuys. We took the Dormie and arrived late as it refused to start due to stuck carb linkage. :banghead: It was worth going though as we had a good turn out of 3 Dormies - Bob's Series 2A, Hema's Series 3 and my Series...

Re: Budget 2013 - Tax exempt and SORN :)
Here in the sunny State of California (and it really is sunny right now), there is no such thing as an MOT and no smog test on vehicles over 30 years old. All you need is insurance and registration sticker (the cost of which is based on the price you paid for the vehicle) and you are good to go.

Thanks John, now that does sound good. I'll add that to my recipe book.

Re: Dormobile In America........
The 25 year rule is correct. But there's something a little fishy going on - the VIN number shows up as a 1983/84 model year 110 pickup truck with a 2.5 litre diesel. With only 12,000 miles? The cab looks very new. Word on the street has it that Alabama is the easiest state in the USA to register mo...
