Re: 1975 LHD 109 SW
I have 2.5mm solid ali sheet on my SWB roof rack and it's great for walking on, loading things by sliding them up and so on. But as mentioned above if parked for a long period on flat ground, it does gather water in one corner, and then green slime forms which makes it a bit slippery. I've used pati...

Looking good! Are you keeping the monochrome style?

Re: "Hei" from Norway
I like the roofrack! That gives some extra loading space for long items down the sides, which is something I miss in the Carawagon. Rolled up wind breaks, awning poles and anything long tend to end up on the floor inside at the moment. And it also disguises the box frame for that amazing roof a litt...

Hi Simon,
I'm heading down from Wakefield on Friday night, but I don't finish work till 16:30 so I'll be leaving after that.
Best regards,
Patrick

Re: Dormobile
I don't think I've seen that one on this forum before, for ease of searching later, reg is: NWJ 589K It's got quite a distinctive roof rack too, with a centre strut down to the gutter. Is that to support the weight of an extra spare wheel maybe? It's hard to get a direct link to it, but goin...

Re: Carawagon roof or plans
I doubt anybody has detailed plans as such, and far as I know nobody has made one from a standard 109 roof (yet!) so all the rebuilds will have been using old pieces as patterns. Your best bet will be to find somebody near you and take loads of photos and measurements. BigDave on this forum has rebu...

Re: MOT exemption for vehicles over 40
Without doing the maths, I am guessing that most engine change vehicles will always need an MOT - unless you add a lot of weight at the same time. " Criterion 1 If a vehicle has a power to weight ratio of more than 15% in excess of its original design, unless such a modification took place befo...
