Thanks, so about 5" spare! Think I'll wait for the carawagon pics as will get height & fractionally more length (no bulkhead) in that.
Shame the Lomas would be too difficult/expensive to repair.

Re: None for a while, then 3 come along! (Lomas Ambi)
Bulkhead on the blue one is knackered - the other pictures show this. Also I think the fibreglass edges can be seen in the image, so replacing it would be pretty much impossible I think. It's also a bit wider than a standard bulkhead, so what's metal & what's "extra" is anybodies guess...

Re: Insurance - renewal time
It's £125 for my 88" with FJ. Unlimited mileage, 3rd party on other vehicles. Apparently commuting is covered under personal, but having a second car may be a reason for this (only gets driven to work about once a month).

There was a cut out into the cab - guess where my feet would have been going!
It's sold anyway, so not a problem!

Re: 2A Marshall Ambulance with pop-up roof
Would be tempted, but there's that carawagon to look at..... Re the MOT would it need collecting with a trailer? Or would it be OK to drive on the Irish registration until getting it home? Technically it's failed, so shouldn't be allowed on the road? If the chassis really is OK, wonder why no photos...

Re: 1970 Carawagon - Inverness
Thanks Les. That's the last of the practicalities sorted - at the 12-15 mpg I'd been seeing around (Google & local garage used to have one) it wasn't practical. Higher pressure ratio may help further (there's another head in there) as would the diffs/Ashcroft transfer box. Just need some pics &a...

Cracks are appearing.
Robin - are there any photo's at all?
Dan - how close did you say you'd be in a couple of weeks?

Re: 1970 Carawagon - Inverness
It's the 12-15 mpg that's quite off putting, then again a diesel conversion won't be cheap either. Not so much comfort for the seats, it's wanting some back & neck protection in the event of a mishap.
