Re: Dormobile roof won’t open fully. Help please

Good question regards gas struts and wind Hi Bob, I haven't camped yet in very strong winds, but judging by the force needed to pull the roof down, I would say it needs to be verry, verry strong winds to blow it down. But I am planning a little mod to prevent the eventuality of the roof blowing dow...

Re: Dormobile roof won’t open fully. Help please

Hi Bob, First off CRT is the hart of the hole where the bolt goes trough. It is fairly simple to open the roof with the gas struts. You still need to push it past the point of no return, then you will feel the struts doing their work and you can let go. The roof will open up all by itself. Closing i...

Re: Dormobile roof won’t open fully. Help please

Hi Bob, I have had the same issue with Mine (Dora). As soon as the weather got a bit cooler, I couldn't really get the roof to open properly. Out of fear of ripping the canopy, I have since this summer replaced the original stays with gas struts. Now the struts push the canopy open as far as it allo...

Hope we can make it next year.

Even though we could only come for the day as Dora is still on the mend, we had a fab day out on Saturday. Always good to see so many campers about.

Re: Gas for Dudley carawagon cooker

I used the blue Calor 4.5 kg bottles. But I switched over last week to a Methylated spirit cooker. We are going to Spain for a few weeks next Sunday, so will find out how well that holds up to using gas. Lots of peeps in the yachting are using this form of cooking. The methylated spirit is widely an...

Re: Kelmarsh (was Billing) Show 27-29 July 2018

Had a wonderful time at the show. Good meeting you all again who were at the show. Was a bit wet towards the end, but we survived... We had masses of room to set up which was brilliant. There was room for at least 4 more units. Big thanks to Stuart for organising the stand on the ground in...
