Re: Carawagon laminate - all the same, and modern equivalent?

Just been cutting an original piece of Formica in the Carawagon yesterday - the cooker lid is now hinged a little further forwards so I can open it fully under the roof. It also allows a vent at the back for the fridge below. My Formica is a different pattern but as my cupboards were built by the fi...

Re: Carawagon in Buckinghamshire

It just looks like corrugated polycarbonate roofing sheet attached to the inside - is this just to give the outer some strength? I would guess if the flexible panel is just a thin plastic it'll need some help especially when it is laying flat.

Re: Carawagon in Buckinghamshire

Interesting colour and roof without windows. Wonder if it has had different roof fitted. Later ones usually have the end vents in the lower half of the folding panel, at least some of which sported the translucent roof without windows from what I can work out. I can't remember if MOD models had the ...

Re: Dormobile for rebuild OVW 824M

I was trying to help save this one as it had a council notice on it as an abandoned vehicle and its days were suddenly numbered. I had the address of the registered keeper but the vehicle disappeared and then appeared and quickly disappeared on eBay. It was sold through Browns not that many years ag...

Re: Caranex/Carawagon

Slow reply from me... That shows it very well Robin, and thanks for taking the time to check it out! I am assuming that is an H4 so maybe a lower model might be a better fit on the slide out frame (though might well suffer from the same width issues). I suppose I'll stick to my home made awning rail...

Re: Carawagon roof supports

I have the same windows and my supports also rest on the window (perspex). I have two supports each side, mine are made of wood however.

Caranex/Carawagon

Well I never! I'm half surprised, half not - mainly surprised as it's taken me this long to actually realise there was a connection. Along with John Stokes and probably others I use a Caranex with the Carawagon (although I do need to modify it slightly to fit better) and do think they look 'right' a...

Re: What tires where original fitted to a 109 carawagon?

Mine was originally fitted with Goodyear Xtra Grips as far as I am aware (the early photos I have of it show it on these) and it had Avon Ranger Mk2s on when I got it. The parts catalogue for the era shows the tyre patterns available as standard LR options.
