Re: Hello from Somerset

Looks like you're doing a great job

Keep it up and keep us posted on your progress.

If you have any questions, or need a source for the roof seals or any other Carawagon related parts, let me know. I've restored and worked on several, so ask away :tiphat:

Cheers,
Robin.

Re: Hello from Somerset

Hi James, Good to see another 5 door Carawagon make an appearance - they are much rarer than the 3 door version, though a few more have appeared over the last few years. It would be good to see pictures, but your Instagram link doesn't appear to work for me. Here's my 5 door, finished last year thou...

Re: Introductory post

Hi, and welcome. As you probably know, Carawagons were bespoke, made to customer requirements, so there were different layouts (though most went for the standard layout you'll see in the pictures). So, doing your own interior, to suit your needs, is a good idea. Not all Carawagons came with the 'pop...

Re: Howzit from joburg

Hi, and welcome.

That's a nice looking Dormobile - a shame there is no furniture inside, but at least you have the seats and roof.

I'm sure you can work something out for the furniture (cooker, sink, cupboards etc.) to make it a useful camper again, if that's what you want.

Re: Another Carawagon!

Well, after a couple of years of not doing much (though I have recommissioned a couple of Land Rovers and done an engine swap for others), I've finally got this one back on the road!! http://www.rms1.co.uk/landy/cara3/finished1.jpg http://www.rms1.co.uk/landy/cara3/finished2.jpg It will be used by a...

Re: Carawagon elevating roof removal procedure.

Nice write-up & pictures - very useful for a first-timer, I would think. After doing several myself, there are couple of points I'd make. I see why you removed your roof completely, so you could get the vehicle into your garage, but if replacing the seals, woodwork and/or hinges, I find it easie...

Re: Doncaster 2022 anyone?

No overnight camping - arrive on the morning of the show and leave at the end.

Not sure I'll be going this year - part of the appeal was to go the day before and have a chilled out evening around the firepit - looks like that's a thing of the past :thud:

2022 Events and Shows

Hi guys & gals, Here is a list of some of the shows/events which have been provisionally confirmed for 2022. Obviously these events will depend on the prevailing Covid-19 restrictions at the time. I hope to be updating the list as things move on. It is not intended to be a complete list of all L...
