Re: Broken chassis rail at the front offside dumbiron

AAAAGGGGGHHHHHHH :thud: It's a wonder it's lasted as long as it has - presumably it was a 'quick fix' and slap underseal on just so the previous owner could sell it  I hope you don't find any more filler on the chassis! Are you old enough to remember the magnet trick? Prior to manufacturers di...

Re: Broken chassis rail at the front offside dumbiron

The only way to know is to cut back until you find good thick steel to weld to.

It's no good plating if the rest of the dumbiron is rotten!

Re: Kelmarsh & Peterborough shows

:cactus: So, that's a big "No" then  I've had a few replies, all in the negative, with just one person possibly interested in Kelmarsh. It looks like the days of Series motors at these big organised shows might be over. I'll cancel the Kelmarsh stand in a couple of days (just in case there's ...

Re: Broken chassis rail at the front offside dumbiron

Oh dear!!

Have you had a good look at the rest of the chassis - tapping it with a hammer?

Dumbiron replacement is fairly straightforward, though I see you've also got the P38 power steering which will make it a little more involved.

Hope you don't find anything more serious.

Re: First camping in carolcarawagon!!

That sounds strange Phil  If the engine is fine at all other times, acceleration ok, no juddering or kangarooing, then I can't see it being fuel or lift pump, though I suppose if you were low on fuel there's a chance it could be the pick-up tube in the tank? We had a problem on Patrick's SWB ...

Re: First camping in carolcarawagon!!

That is fantastic Phil  Great to see you've finished it, and are using it. It looks really good, especially with the proper awning. You just need a firepit now, to complete the ensemble  We do find we get mixed reactions on 'proper' camp sites, with some folk looking down their noses a...

Re: Which Solar panel?

Shouldn't really need to wire it to the starter battery - unless you are using that battery for something while you are camping (lights, phone charger etc.). If you have a voltage sensing split charge relay, then it will top up the starter battery before starting to charge the leisure one, but depen...

Different location as well, and a trade seller.

Looks like it might have been bought by a trader to flip it

Re: Which Solar panel?

That kit looks fine Paul.

Though I would mount it on a rigid board rather than leaving it 'flexible'.

Cheers,
