Re: Carawagon road springs

dpaz, sorry to resurrect your scribblings, but I was wondering how the Paddocks parabolic springs have lasted? Its about 2 years since you last reported on them (in this thread).

Many thanks, Sam

Why we hoard stuff!

Not directly Landy related, but this justifies why we hoard spares... My daily driver is a Volvo estate (sorry). Not your typical one, its a 250bhp, 4WD top of the range one, albeit approaching 20 years old. Its a V70R AWD for those into Volvos. Anyway, one of my brake calipers decided to seize last...

Holy cow! Ebay bargain for someone

I've been watching these rarer-than-a-rare-thing wheels and contacted the seller asking if he would ship/courier them as he was stating 'collection only' which ruled me out - I didn't get a reply and I suspect a great many other people also had the same issue. Result? Someone paid under £250 for a s...

Re: Hello from Yorkshire

Hi Mick, looks like I'll be talking to you more often! Funnily enough its the CV joint availability that I'm most worried about - I'd already (reluctantly) accepted that if my CVs went that I'd have to fit 110 axles instead :embarassed: So I'm relieved that I've found someone who can do the ...

Re: Hello from Yorkshire

Yes we'll have to be inventive with the storage! The LPG tank is going across the bulkhead behind the front seats - it'll be boxed in to protect it. I could do without it being inside the body to be honest, but the alternative - sticking it in place of the fuel tank doesn't look too good to me - whi...

Re: Hello from Yorkshire

Thought I'd update my introduction as things have moved on, and not how I originally intended! The blue 109 above was a lovely looker and I still love her to bits, but the chassis needed replacing, as did the bulkhead - both needed far more work than I was able to attempt. When I started looking int...

Re: Alex's White Dormobile

Thought it was the exhaust manifolds that differed? One puts the turbo up high and allows it to clear the chassis rail ? The Disco one IIRC?

Re: Hello from Yorkshire

Its going to take a month just to get it home lol. The chap who has bought my old car is now collecting it on Saturday, not Friday, so the driveway is going to be full until Sat evening... and there is a combination of conflicting issues that means I can't get the landy home for another 2 weeks :( B...

Re: LR Spring Adventure, Ripley Castle, 23-24th May

We had 4 Carawagons on the stand (Trev's, Steve's, Patrick's and mine) along with Neil's 109" converted camper and Mark's converted ambulance. Aha! In that case it was Neil who showed us around his 109 camper! :gold: Many thanks for the guided tour Neil, and for your warm welcome - it really g...

Re: Camper Storage Layout

Thanks for starting this discussion Jabbawocky, its something that I've been researching since buying the 109. One of our issues is that we have quite a large Engel fridge/freezer that although its bashed about and many many years old, is still perfectly reliable and fit for purpose so we're relucta...
