Re: Gertie
Gents Very interested to hear about Gertie's past. Luckerly I was given a folder of her history. Yes she spent the first 3 years in South Africa ( after the first few months in St Andrews in Scotland) and then returned to Scotland . She has now had various owners in England . Gertie was also sold to...

Re: Dormobile roof
Checked mine again today and it does have the adjustable brackets at the top, still could not get it fully open.
It was very tight so your advice was correct.
I will see what happens when the weather warms up and maybe the extra holes may be the way forward
Thanks again for all the advise, Kevin

Re: Dormobile roof
Ian Yes that all makes sense, I have only tried it over the Christmas period when it's very cold. It felt like it would not open high enough and to make it worse the roof has not been opened for a couple of years. Hopefully it will be fine when the weather warms up. I will keep trying it and hopeful...

Re: Dormobile weight
Thanks Alex
I was just checking the legal situation with regards to seat belts, the manual says that if the vehicle has a ULW greater than 2540kg and used before Oct 1981 then they are not required.
With the info you supplied this obviously is not the case
Seat belts required !
Thanks kevin

Robin
She has been very well looked after in the past but has stood untouched for a couple of years
Hopefully a good service and MOT and she will be on the road. Interior just need a clean
Thanks kevin

Gertie
Hi all,
Picked up my new Dormobile "Gertie" yesterday and been having a quick look today.
She came with a folder full of history which I am slowing looking threw, found out that she was named Gertie so that will do for me.
A few pictures to show her off
Thanks kevin

Re: Series 2 Club - For sale1970 Land rover 109 Dormobile
Just returned from my viewing, she looks good and I have taken the plunge and made a purchase
Now I have got to arrange transport from Cleveland to essex
Does that now make me a full member of LRCC
Hopefully I will be out and about next year
Thanks Kevin
