Re: Another Carawagon!

Would be interested to know the reason for the mesh over the rear window - was it for security? I‘ve seen mesh over the complete rear windo before, but not the partial covering?

Dual battery options...

In preparation for the days ahead when we can eventually make it out to some of the Land Rover shows / camping weekends, I’ve been looking at options for installing a dual battery setup and testing out one of of the new all-in-one rechargeable batteries and portable solar panels with my small (18l) ...

Re: Carawagon laminate - all the same, and modern equivalent?

Hi Patrick, I cant be on much help I’m afraid, as the PO of my Carawagon also removed the original furniture and re-made to his own design. I wouldn’t recommend using that as a template. I’ve been looking at different solutions for rebuilding the interior of mine, and will look at a couple of custom...

Re: Caranex/Carawagon

Calum, I think the Caranex might fit well onto the telescopic poles. Depending on whether the Caranex is H4 or H4TL, the poles would be extracted to different lengths to ensure a good fit.

Re: Which Solar panel?

Thanks Patrick, that’s really helpful. Could u ask a little more about the type of deep-cycle leisure battery that you’re using? Is it also a lead acid battery? The controller that I was planning to get to charge the lead crystal battery has to be a bit different than the type you linked to, but is ...

Re: Carawagon interior roof covering

Any tips for cleaning it? Mine is a bit grubby looking, I suppose from being left in a shed, unused for a few years. Short of covering it with a new roof-lining, I was thinking about spraying a liquid carpet cleaner on and then vacuuming off to see if it’d make a difference. Anyone tackled it alread...

Re: Which Solar panel?

I’ve found this a really interesting and helpful thread. It seems there’s quite a lot of science to consider before selecting the controller if the leisure battery is something other than a regular lead-acid battery, i.e. differing in type from the starter battery. In the rebuild of my Carawagon, I’...

Re: Is this any use to anyone?

Hi Robin,
Mine too has this piece missing. I’d be interested in making one if you could make a template (e.g. on a couple of sheets of newspaper), I could then cut one out of some plywood with my jigsaw.
