Exmoor trim!!!

G'day all. I've been told by Exmoor Trim that they have discontinued their Dormobile retrim kit. Has anyone found a good alternative to the Eleohant hide material used in Land Rover Dormobiles?

Cheers, Glen.

Looking for help - Posting from UK to Aus

G'day all, I'm finally in a position to get a Dormobile retrim kit from Exmoor. The only issue is they want to charge me an unbelievable amount to ship it to me in Western Australia :banghead: I'm looking for someone in the UK who can forward the package onto to Aus using a cheaper courier than Exmo...

Re: Walter the Dormobile

G'day Colin,
I saw a post you put up on the AULRO forum of your dormobile seat trim set from Exmoor. I was wondering what you thought of it and if it included everything you need? I had a feeling they don't provide the material for the underside of the seat?

Cheers,

Dormobile wardrobe

G'day all. I was under the impression that early (up to '66ish) Dormobile wardbrobes had 2 doors as opposed to just the one. Can anyone confirm this?

Cheers,

Glen

Re: Dormobile roof vent

G'day Alex,

Yes I've had a look at TerriAnn's website but I found it a bit ambiguous. The text said one thing but the pictures say something different.

Yes I have the mechanism in good nick.

Cheers

Dormobile roof vent

G'day all,

Can anyone please put up some pictures of their roof vent hinges and opening handle? My Dormy had some scary contraption made up by a PO but I'd like to return it to original.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Fibreglassing ---- handy trick

Gday all, I've just finished fibreglassing over the new steel braces and wooden fillers in my Dormy roof. It was the first time I've ever tried fibreglassing and my first 2 attempts were a complete disaster! (I ended up scooping off the still wet matting and throwing it in the bin before it had a ch...

Re: Dormobile roof strengthening bar?

G'day Robin, I'll just post the pictures here for your benefit and anyone else who may derive some use from them. The first picture shows the angle I bent the tube to. The tube I used is 3/8" 4130 chrome moly. I picked a reference point FWD and AFT of the bend and ran a string line between them...

Re: Dormobile roof strengthening bar?

Gday Robin, I've stumbled upon some drawings I made up when redoing my braces. I can't say with any certainty that the dimensions and whatnot would be standard to all Land Rover Dormobiles but it's what i could determine from the remnants of my originals. I'm happy to share them if they're any use t...

Re: Dormobile roof strengthening bar?

No worries at all Robin. Yes the braces are only along the hinge side and the front. I had a mate TIG weld the plates to the bar. I'm not sure if that's how the originals were but I figured it'd be much more rigid that way. I haven't welded the side and front bars together though. I'm relying on the...
