Re: Installing my cab heater

I have a 2 Kw Webasto Night heater Petrol unit installed in a tray under the centre front seat, above the overdrive on my 6 Pot “Dreadnought”. That way it is easy to access if required, adjacent to batteries and underseat fuel tank for connection facility, and high enough to avoid casual wading wate...

Re: Dormobile - Porta Potti - Mod & which one.

Hi Mark. Ref “Donkey” bulkhead, as I recall there was sufficient metal to keep her going awhile whilst you contemplate a bulkhead change? Chopping and welding will keep her going for 10 years, but is still significant work. And cost. Perhaps £350 to buy parts, chop, weld and paint, perhaps 4 days wo...

Re: 6 pot Dormobile 4 door

May be useful for a wise soul to discover how many original 6 pot Dormobiles remain - that way prices can be more accurately judged?

1 declare mine  valued at approx £18K I am advised.

Re: Weekend near Bridlington

Sad story and I sympathise. But well done for going ahead with the trip. An early holiday in my Dormobile in the Cambrian Mountains was so cold that I fitted a Webasto heater. Wife and I much more content. Lent my spare Dormobile to my brother and partner to accompany us to Wales last summer on a be...

Land Rover Dormobile Tables

Hullo All My Dormobiles are both missing the correct Dormobile Tables. I have browsed for pictures, with little success as general views only. I have read someplace that the SHB Dormobile at Romsey did have tables but they needed to be re-manufactured to fit. Any experiences to share? http://www.dor...

Re: Dormobile Table

Thanks for this Mick. Naturally dependent on cost - and I presumed that the table top would be part of the table - but not having one - I don't know the construction and fittings. - jj

Re: Engine options

Interesting posts thank you. My 2.6l 6 pot engine was horrid. Very smoky and thirsty: less than 14 m.p.g. However, absolutely transformed after a professional head re-build (valve guides, valves and seals), new big end shells, bore light hone and rings. No oil top up between changes, and no leaks. O...
